Safiyah is a strategist and a human-centered leader who combines a sharp business mind with an educator's heart, turning complex obstacles into infrastructure for human flourishing. Across a 25-year career spanning the corporate, government, philanthropic, and education sectors, from pre-K classrooms to higher education, she has bridged diverse perspectives to turn bold visions into reality. She excels at co-designing organizational policies and systemic change. Whether leading large-scale change at the North Carolina Partnership for Children/Smart Start Network or serving as Vice Chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, her focus stays constant: applying business intelligence to synthesize complex challenges into systems that drive long-term community prosperity. She is known for cutting past surface-level fixes to ground policy in the reality of the people she serves. Beyond her career, Safiyah serves as an NC Guardian ad Litem and as a board member for Raleigh Little Theatre, First Children's Finance, and Passage Home.
