Chris Johnson is an education advocate and civic leader from Philadelphia. Chris grew up surrounded by the example of service. His grandmother was a lifelong educator, and his mother dedicated her career to serving families and at-risk youth, shaping Chris's belief that education, service, and good government can open doors, create opportunity, and transform lives for the better. A proud HBCU graduate of Oakwood University, Chris studied political science and discovered his passion for public policy through an internship with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. He went on to earn a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government. Today, Chris advocates to state and federal government leaders to fully fund public schools in Philadelphia and invest in programs that will help students meet their highest potential. In May, Chris was elected the Democratic nominee for State Representative in Pennsylvania's 200th Legislative District, where he is running to fight for strong public schools, working families, and the Northwest Philadelphia communities he calls home.
