Akbar Ali

Akbar Ali is a community organizer and small-business owner serving as the Democratic State Representative for Georgia’s 106th District. At just 21, he became the youngest member of the Georgia House after winning a special election in December 2025 to represent parts of Lawrenceville and Snellville. A Kennesaw State University graduate and former first vice chair of the Gwinnett County Democratic Party, Ali ran on a platform prioritizing lowering living costs, strengthening public schools, expanding healthcare access, and defending civil rights. Raised in Gwinnett County as the son of Pakistani immigrants, he emphasizes grassroots engagement and pragmatic problem-solving.
