Andrae Gonzales is a city councilmember, nonprofit leader, and former school board president who has deep roots in Kern County. As a Bakersfield councilmember, Andrae has worked to build new parks, revitalize the city's downtown, and make neighborhoods safer. He initiated the creation of the valley's first community land trust to help first-time homebuyers. Professionally, Andrae works as the executive director of Stewards, a nonprofit that helps protect Social Security benefits for seniors and adults with disabilities. He's also cofounded three different nonprofits that focus on revitalizing communities and helping Kern County youth and families.
