Miguel Valente is a proud veteran and the son of immigrants running for the Sangamon County Board, ready to bring innovative change to Sangamon County. Having grown up on the South Side of Chicago in an immigrant family from Guerrero, Mexico, he understands firsthand the importance of advocating for low-income and minority communities. Miguel made history as the first in his family to graduate from college and to serve in the U.S. military, proudly serving as a Water Treatment Specialist in the Illinois Army National Guard, where he was activated for both federal and state missions. He currently serves in the Illinois Governor’s Office of Management and Budget.
