Staci Childs

Staci Childs has been called to education and service since childhood, rooted in a legacy of civil rights, justice, and faith that continues to guide her work today. From becoming a Teacher of the Year in Houston ISD to serving on the White House Domestic Policy Council's Education Team under the Obama Administration, her career reflects a deep commitment to expanding opportunity through education. A graduate of Hampton University, Georgia State University, and Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Staci is also a civil rights attorney and founder of Sunnyside Legal, where she has helped families navigate complex legal challenges with compassion. She currently serves on the Texas State Board of Education, representing District 4, and is running for Texas House District 131 to expand her impact at the state level. Across every role, Staci leads with purpose, creativity, and a belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives.
