Julio Salinas
Julio Salinas is the son of migrant farmworker roots, raised in the Rio Grande Valley where his family built a path to the middle class through hard work and sacrifice. His father, one of nine siblings, traveled the country before settling in South Texas, eventually building a life in local journalism that provided stability for their family. Growing up, Julio saw both the promise and the pressure of that journey — where every decision at the kitchen table came with careful calculation. As a Spanish-speaking student, he faced barriers in a system that often failed bilingual learners, relying on his family and community to succeed. That experience shaped his belief in opportunity, strong public education, and the power of community — values that drive his run for state representative.
