Abigail Spanberger

Governor
Virginia

Abigail Spanberger grew up just outside of Richmond, where she learned the value of public service early on from her parents. A proud product of Virginia public schools, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. She has spent nearly her entire life in service to her country, first at the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and later at CIA, before running for Congress in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District in 2018 and winning three consecutive terms. Abigail was the first Democrat elected to serve Virginia’s Seventh District in the U.S. House in more than 50 years and the first woman to ever represent the district. She and her husband Adam are now raising their three daughters in Henrico County. As Governor, Abigail Spanberger will focus on bringing Virginians together, lowering costs for Virginia families, making our public schools the best in the nation, keeping our communities safe, and more.
