Paul Seo
Paul Seo is a husband, father, U.S. Army veteran, and state prosecutor serving as Mayor of Rancho Palos Verdes. He is the son of Korean immigrants — his father worked a union job at the San Pedro shipyards and his mother at Seiko Instruments in Torrance—whose savings helped them open a small store in Inglewood that was destroyed during the 1992 civil unrest. His parents rebuilt, shaping Paul’s lifelong commitment to service. That calling led him to West Point, where he served as a U.S. Army Captain in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. After his service, he attended Loyola Law School and spent seven years as an L.A. County Deputy District Attorney prosecuting serious and violent felonies, with a focus on rehabilitation and reducing recidivism. As a Deputy Attorney General, he now leads prosecutions of political corruption and corporate fraud. On the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council, he has championed energy reliability, public safety, mobile reception, and relief funding for landslide-affected residents.
