Luke Bronin served as mayor of Hartford from 2016 to 2024, where he led the city back from the brink of bankruptcy, drove record investments in affordable housing, created the nationally-recognized Hartford Youth Service Corps, and prioritized public safety. A Rhodes Scholar, Luke volunteered to serve as a Navy intelligence officer in Afghanistan in 2010, working on the U.S. military's anti-corruption task force. He served in President Obama's Treasury Department, helping create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to protect Americans from predatory lending, and later served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes. As General Counsel to Governor Dannel Malloy, Luke helped enact Connecticut's common-sense gun laws and worked to end chronic homelessness among veterans.
