Victor Sims is a Polk County native, child advocate, and experienced nonprofit and policy leader running for Polk County School Board, District 3. Raised in foster care and educated in 12 different schools, Victor knows firsthand how important it is for every child to have stability, opportunity, and someone in their corner. Victor has dedicated his career to serving children and families, rising to lead a child welfare organization and continuing his work in child welfare reform and advocacy. He holds degrees from Polk State College and the University of South Florida, an MBA from Florida International University, and a law degree from Florida State University. Victor is running to bring his lived experience, professional leadership, and commitment to children to the School Board so every Polk County student has the opportunity to succeed.
