Chelsea Byers is a community organizer and social impact strategist with 20 years of experience leading programs and campaign operations with nonprofits, grassroots groups, and community organizations. She was first elected to the West Hollywood City Council in 2022 and served as Mayor from 2025 to 2026. Prior to her election, she served as a Human Services Commissioner and member of the Housing Element Task Force in West Hollywood. Growing up in a working-class family in a right-to-work state like Arizona, Chelsea witnessed firsthand the consequences of wage theft, economic insecurity, and the devaluation of working people. Those experiences have shaped her priorities on the City Council, where she has championed the issues that most directly affect working families, including affordable housing and tenant protections, access to childcare, and investments in social services. Her priorities also include advancing climate change mitigation strategies and ensuring West Hollywood remains an inclusive community for all.
