Shevrin Jones is a member of the Florida State Senate, representing District 34. Jones was born, raised, and educated in Florida. Before running for public office, Jones was as an AP Chemistry teacher with Broward County Public Schools and the executive director of South Florida Reading Corps. A game-changer and a history-maker, Jones was the first gay person and first LGBT Black person elected to the Florida Senate.
