Dr. Nikhil Wagle is a physician, small business owner and dedicated public servant. As a 13-year member of the Pleasant Valley School Board, he helped lead initiatives boosting student achievement and enrollment while demonstrating fiscal responsibility. As an ophthalmologist in the Bettendorf community for the last 27 years, Dr. Wagle has restored vision for over 25,000 patients. While serving on the Iowa Board of Medicine for 3 years, he prioritized the safety and health of all Iowans. His leadership is defined by collaboration, transparency, and a deep commitment to improving the health of all residents of the state. Married for 30 years to another local physician, Dr. Wagle is the proud father of two sons: a public-school teacher in Cedar Rapids and a dental student at the University of Iowa. His platform includes investing in strong public schools, lowering health care and insurance costs, supporting small businesses, and improving the water quality to keep families safe. Once elected, he will be the only physician and health care worker in the Iowa State Senate.
