Kathy Tran

Kathy Tran is a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing the 18th District, having first been elected in 2017 and taking office in 2018. She was born in Vietnam and came to the United States as a refugee with her family, and holds degrees from Duke University and the University of Michigan. Tran has a long background in public service, including serving at the U.S. Department of Labor and advocating on workforce and immigration issues before her election. In the legislature, she has focused on expanding healthcare, strengthening public education, and protecting voting rights.
