NEW POLITICS ANNOUNCES $2 MILLION JOINT FUNDRAISING EFFORT TO SUPPORT DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES IN TOP HOUSE PICKUP DISTRICTS
New Politics Next Mission Fund Launches with Endorsements of Eight Service-Driven Candidates in Must-Win Districts to Flip the House in 2026
WASHINGTON D.C. (September 25, 2025) — New Politics, an organization that recruits, develops, and elects leaders with service backgrounds, today announced the launch of The Next Mission Fund joint fundraising committee. The new initiative plans to raise at least $2 million to support candidates with proven service records in the most critical House pickup opportunities in the 2026 election cycle.
Starting with eight targeted races, the New Politics Next Mission Fund aims to expand to additional House districts where candidates with service backgrounds are best positioned to win the general election. The initial cohort of candidates supported by this committee includes:
- Jo Mendoza (AZ-06)
- Sarah Trone Garriott (IA-03)
- Matt Maasdam (MI-07)
- Kishla Askins (NE-02)
- Maura Sullivan (NH-01)
- Rebecca Bennett (NJ-07)
- Cait Conley (NY-17)
- Ryan Crosswell (PA-07)
“The Next Mission Fund allows New Politics to go all-in on House races where early resources are decisive, combining our proven candidate development and advising with the focused financial support that these campaigns need to compete and win. These eight districts represent some of our best pickup opportunities for 2026, including true toss-up seats, districts won by Harris but held by vulnerable Trump Republicans, and must-defend open seats that will directly determine House control,” said Emily Cherniack, Founder and Executive Director of New Politics. “Each of these leaders has answered the call to serve — in uniform, in community, and now in politics. Their service backgrounds provide the ideal profile to compete in these highly competitive swing districts, and their campaigns are the frontline of New Politics’ 2026 strategy to flip the House and safeguard our democracy.”
“Voters are hungry for fresh voices and leaders who put their country and community before politics. The candidates New Politics supports represent the type of leaders we need in Congress,” said Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06). “New Politics does the critical work of identifying these servant leaders and giving them the comprehensive support that turns strong candidates into winning campaigns. Their investment in these races will be crucial to flipping the House in 2026.”
"With our democracy under existential threat, voters are demanding candidates who lead with courage, integrity, and authenticity," said Rep. Pat Ryan (NY-18). "New Politics' work is critical to electing more patriots who will fight in Congress to protect our freedoms."
The Next Mission Fund represents New Politics' strategic commitment to significant early investment in the districts that will determine control of the House in 2026. As part of this effort, New Politics will continue to provide hands-on strategic advising for Democratic candidates throughout the entire cycle, including comprehensive support with fundraising, communications, organizing, and staff hiring and development.
