
Shané Darby
Shané Darby is an AmeriCorps alum, a member of the Delaware Army National Guard, a community organizer, a Wilmington City Councilmember, and the founder of Black Mothers In Power (BMIP), where she leads efforts to improve Black maternal health, expand access to postpartum care, and build community-based support systems for families. A mental health counselor by training, she has developed programs in transitional housing, doula workforce development, and resource navigation while advocating for policies that advance housing justice, public safety, and health equity. Grounded in a "people over party" approach, Shané is running for State Representative to create sustainable, community-driven solutions that center the needs and voices of Black Delawareans.
