Mike Johnston

Mike Johnston is the 46th Mayor of Denver, Colorado, inaugurated in July 2023, and previously served as a Colorado state senator. Before entering elected office, he was a high school teacher in the Mississippi Delta and a school principal in the Denver area, and later worked in education policy at the national level. Johnston also served as a senior education advisor to President Obama and led nonprofit efforts to expand early childhood education. As mayor, he has focused on reducing homelessness, expanding affordable housing, and investing in safety and infrastructure for Denver residents.
