Adam has consistently answered the call to serve — from volunteering across the country, including as a disaster relief coordinator after Hurricane Katrina and as a volunteer firefighter in college, to enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant at Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, and currently serves as a team chief and paratrooper in the 412th Civil Affairs Battalion, Army Reserve. Adam previously served in the Michigan State Senate, delivering over $40 million in investments for job training, business development, and infrastructure, while advancing priorities like lead pipe replacement, fair elections, criminal justice reform, and LGBTQ+ rights. In 2023, Governor Whitmer appointed Adam as Director of the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, where he has helped more than double the state's veteran database, expand employment programs, and launch new efforts to address veteran homelessness and suicide — continuing a lifetime of service defined by stepping up, delivering results, and putting community first.
