Retired Three-Star Admiral Nancy Lacore advances to the runoff in the SC-01 Democratic primary
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 9, 2026) — New Politics endorsed candidate Nancy Lacore has advanced to the runoff for the Democratic nomination in South Carolina's 1st Congressional District. Lacore, a retired three-star admiral who served 35 years in the Navy, enters the runoff with a proven record of service and leadership, and a compelling story that has resonated with voters across the district. South Carolina's 1st Congressional District is a competitive seat and a key pick-up opportunity for Democrats this November.
