NEW POLITICS BACKS SERVICE CANDIDATES IN HIGH PROFILE TEXAS SENATE AND WISCONSIN GOVERNOR RACES

With the Long-Time Support and Endorsement of New Politics, AmeriCorps Alumni James Talarico and David Crowley Launch Historic Statewide Campaigns

WASHINGTON D.C. (September 15, 2025) — New Politics, an organization that recruits, develops, and elects leaders across the political spectrum with service backgrounds, today announced its endorsement of James Talarico for U.S. Senate in Texas and David Crowley for Governor of Wisconsin. Both AmeriCorps alumni, Talarico and Crowley represent the culmination of New Politics' decade-long commitment to backing service leaders in their run for office, having supported their political journeys since their earliest political campaigns.

Emily Cherniack, Founder and Executive Director of New Politics, released the following statements:

On James Talarico: "James Talarico represents the best of what's possible when servant leaders step into the arena. His AmeriCorps service taught him to set aside partisan divides in service to his community and country. James has that rare ability to connect authentically across differences, exactly what Texas and the U.S. Senate need. New Politics has believed in James since day one, when others saw his first race as impossible. We're betting big on him again because servant leaders like James are essential for the future of our democracy."

On David Crowley: "David Crowley exemplifies the transformative power of servant leadership. From his AmeriCorps service to becoming the first African American elected as Milwaukee County Executive, he has consistently broken barriers while bringing people together. New Politics has backed David Crowley since his city council race in 2015, and the foundation of public service experience he’s built over the past decade has prepared him to tackle Wisconsin's biggest challenges as Governor. New Politics is proud to stand with David as he takes this historic next step."
