I began my post-grad career with a year of service as a City Year AmeriCorps Member, where I worked alongside other young adults to tutor and mentor seventh grade students in a historically under-resourced school. I was inspired by the humility, creativity, and hard work of my teammates daily and energized by the possibilities of what we could accomplish when we worked together to serve a cause greater than ourselves.

Our country is full of servant leaders who have chosen to put the needs of their communities before their own – rather than seeking power for personal gain. I believe these people should be our leaders.
