COMMISSIONER BOBBIE DANIEL

Mesa County Commissioner
Service:
AmeriCorps

Born in Meeker, Colorado, and raised in Palisade, CO, Bobbie is the daughter of a hairdresser and a coal miner. She worked at Denny's and scooped ice cream at Baskin Robbins while making the National Dean's list her freshman year at Mesa State College. She was accepted into AmeriCorps and was stationed at the old Fort Lowery Air Force base in Aurora, Colorado, serving the most vulnerable in Colorado.

Shortly after, she jumped into business ownership at the young age of 23. By the time she was 33, she had a decade of salon ownership under her belt. She used that knowledge and experience to write her book, Solutions from a Nobody. After the government shut down in 2013, she knew more regular people needed to be involved; policy should get back to a government that serves the people rather than rule over them.

She founded Mom Empower Moms, an organization supporting civic engagement and foundational principles. She is the current Chair of the Board of Colorado Women's Alliance, a statewide policy organization focused on research, advocacy, and education around public policy that matters most to women. Now she is running for Mesa County Commissioner District 2. She recently received 75% of the vote at the Mesa County Assembly, clearing the field for the June 2022 Primary election in Colorado.

From a blue-collar upbringing to a waitress, to a successful business owner, to an author, to advocating for women, Bobbie has lived the American Dream while bringing others up with her. Daniel radiates authenticity and enthusiasm. She is the perfect blend of determination and service while fighting for small government and defending the American Dream that she steadily has achieved.
