Alexandra Escobar

New Power Campaign Advisor

Alex is a Campaign Advisor at New Politics, where she serves as an advisor, coach, and liaison to Democratic candidates and their senior staff. She provides strategic guidance on various verticals, including fundraising, organizing, communications, and paid media, and works closely with campaigns to help build a strong message and infrastructure.

Alex is an alum of Answering the Call and Foundations, which played an integral role in her decision to run for Mayor of Long Beach. Although her race didn’t go as she intended, Alex loves giving back to candidates as an advisor, ensuring they feel empowered to tackle the ups and downs of being a candidate.

Before running for office and joining New Politics, Alex worked in people operations at Democracy Fund, where she helped the organization become a certified Great Place to Work. Before that, Alex co-led the Congressional Relations Office at Peace Corps Headquarters and facilitated critical legislative efforts on a Peace Corps bill signed into law — the Sam Farr and Nick Castle Peace Corps Reform Act improved in-service health care for Peace Corps Volunteers overseas.

Alex is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in China.
