Michael “Chief” Carpenter is an entrepreneur, best-selling author, mentor, husband, father, and community leader. He is a veteran of the Iraq War and currently running for Pooler City Council. Michael has been recognized by the Red Cross and the Department of Army for his extraordinary and selfless commitment to advocating for and uplifting his community. He is an engaged citizen and is active in several local groups. He currently co-founded, along with his wife, the Takaway Foundation, which is a new community nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of others. He is a member of the Pooler Lions Club, the Savannah chapter of the NAACP, 100 Black Men of America (Savannah chapter), Shriners, the local VFW, and the Georgia Sheriffs Association.
