Erik Malmstrom is a former Army infantry officer and combat veteran. Following his military service, he co-founded CrossBoundary, a leading frontier market investment advisory firm; worked in a variety of trading and management roles at Cargill, the world’s largest agribusiness; served as a White House Fellow and Senior Policy Advisor at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative; and was General Manager of Crop Marketing at Farmers Business Network, a venture-backed agtech company where he is currently a Strategic Advisor. He has been a contributing writer to the New York Times, term member on the Council on Foreign Relations, and Co-President of Harvard Alumni for Agriculture. He received a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and a joint M.B.A. and M.P.P. from Harvard Business and Kennedy Schools, and was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar at Makerere University in Uganda.
