Clayton medically retired as a Captain due to wounds sustained during an improvised explosive attack while conducting a night raid in Iraq as part of a Special Operations Task Force. After serving in the military, Clayton worked for the Joint IED Defeat Organization and with various non-profit organizations in Washington, DC. He founded USi (acquired in 2016 by Ignite) and is now the Chief Marketing Officer of Ignite. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, received his Masters from Georgetown University, and continuing executive education at the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management.
