Shelane Etchinson

Shelane Etchison joined the U.S. Army after 9/11, where she was deployed to Iraq as a military police platoon leader. After her deployment, she moved to Fort Bragg and was selected for a special operations program that deployed women on combat operations with Army Rangers and Navy SEALs. During her special operations assignment, she was charged with gaining intelligence on targets in Afghanistan. During her third deployment, she was a partner to female Kurdish military units fighting ISIS in Syria. After an 11 year military career, Etchison worked internationally on economic development projects, domestically as a security consultant, and volunteers for youth and Afghan resettlement programs.
