Derek Tran

Congressman Derek Tran proudly represents California’s 45th Congressional District. Serving his first term in Congress, Congressman Tran is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and House Small Business Committee where he focuses on national security, economic issues, consumer protections, and access to capital for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Congressman Tran is the son of refugees. His parents fled the Communist regime in Vietnam so that their children could realize the American Dream in Southern California. When he turned 18, Congressman Tran enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. He served for eight years and completed his assignment at the Joint Forces Training Base at Los Alamitos. He was activated for Operation Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom before earning an honorable discharge. 

Congressman Tran is a proven leader who has led a life of service to his community and country.
